Small Acre Life welcomes guest contributions from experienced homesteaders, rural living enthusiasts, and agricultural experts. If you have practical knowledge to share with our community, we want to hear from you.
What We’re Looking For
We publish practical, hands-on content about small acreage homesteading, backyard livestock, food preservation, vegetable gardening, rural DIY, and self-sufficient living. The best pieces come from real experience — not research alone.
Topics We Accept
- Backyard chickens, ducks, quail, and other poultry
- Small livestock — goats, rabbits, pigs, sheep
- Home canning, freezing, fermenting, and food preservation
- Vegetable gardening on 1–5 acres
- Rural property DIY — fencing, wells, firewood, water systems
- Homesteading for beginners
- Self-sufficient living and off-grid topics
Submission Guidelines
- Length: 1,200–2,500 words. Longer is fine if the topic demands it.
- Voice: Conversational, practical, and first-person is preferred.
- Originality: Must be original content, not published elsewhere.
- Images: Include at least 2–3 original images if possible (JPG, minimum 1200px wide).
- Links: You may include 1 link back to your own site in the author bio only. No promotional links within the body.
- Format: Submit as a Google Doc or plain text with H2/H3 headings marked.
